Got Questions?

What age/skill level is the training plan designed for?

I am looking for A and B skill level riders wanting to learn how to properly train for a 3 hour race. There is no age requirement, but the rider should be focused and committed to racing with the long-term goal of racing at the pro level. If you are not sure if you fit this requirement, please reach out to me to discuss.

What do I need to participate in the training?

You will need the following items for training:

-Smartwatch with heart rate strap, such as a Garmin or Polar brand watch.

-Cycling Computer, such as Garmin or Wahoo.

-Training Peaks app and account. I will invite you to my program.

-Road bike

-Running shoes and accessories

-Access to weights (at gym or at home)

-Optional: power meter for road bike, indoor cycling trainer, Ski Erg and/or rower

What does a normal week look like?

I lay out a schedule once a week in Training Peaks that will be a mix of structured riding, cycling, running, stretching, and more. Every week will be different and will be tailored to meet your schedule. I will ask you at the start of the week how much time you are able to put into training this week and I will work with that. Some weeks it may only be an hour a day, so weeks you will have more time. This will help me gauge how much time you have to work with and what I think you can accomplish that week.  I will encourage you hone your time management skills and schedule so we can fit in as much as possible, while still fulfilling all your obligations.

Will it be too hard for me?

Every person's schedule/plan is customized to where they are physically, mentally, and skill wise. It will be challenging and you can expect to work hard, but it will not be over your skill level. No experience is necessary (training wise), but a willingness to learn and computer skills will be needed to succeed.

What can I expect?

My goal is to improve your overall fitness which, in turn, will help you become a faster, stronger rider. By using a numbers-based training approach, I can see how hard you are pushing yourself, if you are wasting energy, and how well you are recovering. There is so much that can be learned from looking at how a person performs in a workout. My focus is making sure your fitness is the best it possibly can be.  We will get a baseline of where you are physically and use that to get to work. We will look for improvement milestones along the way that show us you are making progress. Whether it is being able to hold your heart rate at a certain number for a period of time, faster lap times, or improved recovery - all things show us what you are capable of. My concern is what you do during the week and how deep you can dig to get the work done. When you get on the starting line, it’s up to you to get it done.

What is expected of me?

The athlete’s responsibilities are simple - do the work and upload your data!  It is crucial you upload your training data on a daily basis.  I can’t do my job if you don’t do yours.  Technology makes it easy for you to do so if you set up your equipment to auto-upload. With that said, you will need to keep your watch and computers charged and have all tools ready to use every day. I will review this data and also use any notes provided in Training Peaks to guide our decisions.  Also, I will need you to stay in contact with me on how you are feeling and on anything else going on in your life that could be affecting your performance. Together, with the daily workout program, data review, and frequent communication, we can create a pathway to improved results - on and off the bike.

Are there discounts for siblings?

Since this is not a one size fits all approach and I have to alter each person's schedule to their unique needs, I have to count each person as their own being. So, there are no discounts for multiple riders in a family. However, I offer discounts for siblings/mulitple rider purchases on for my boot camps.

What if I get hurt/stop racing during my contract period?

Please contact me to discuss options. I don't want anyone to pay for something they do not find valuable so we will work out an amicable solution.

Who are you open to training?

I am open to training any discipline of endurance and/or racing. I am open to ATV racers, other racing disciplines, series and bicycle sports. If you are interested in my services, please reach out and I will see if I fill I'm qualified and am to fulfill your needs.

What will the boot camps be like?

The winter boot camp will be training specific, with focus being on how to replicate a training day like a professional racer. Think of it as a "show me what it takes to be a professional racer" weekend. There will be structured motos, group road bike rides, fitness workouts, and more.

The summer boot camp will be riding specific, with focus being on riding techniques and endurance race pacing. We will spend more time riding during this boot camp compared to the winter boot camp, but will still incorporate other fitness elements.

Please reach out if you have any suggestions or requests for the boot camps, as we are still developing our programs to suit the needs of our clients.
